To sext or not to sext, that is the question. (Our apologies to the Bard.)
We say—hell, yes! And actually, there are some unexpected benefits of engaging in a lil sexting session.
In an Instagram post, Todd Baratz, LMHC (you may know him by his handle, @yourdignonsense) gets into the topic of sexting and why it’s his “love language.” It definitely inspired us to send a few naughty messages of our own.
Disclaimer: If you don’t want to sext, that’s completely okay! But if you feel safe with someone, Todd says go for it.
“It builds desire, confidence, communication, experimentation, and a total expansion of how and where we can express ourselves sexually,” he writes.
Yup, makes total sense. For one, it’s super hot knowing someone is thinking about you during the day, and it definitely ups the anticipation for the next time you get together. And if you have some fantasies that you would like to explore, sexting is a relatively low-pressure way to do so.
Ofc, there’s some etiquette when it comes to sexting, like be sure to ask for consent before sending any sexy photos. (Just a reminder: It’s wise to keep your face out of said sexy photos.)
Not sure where to start? We got you. In our deep dive into the art of dirty talk, global leading sexologist Juliet Allen gave us some exact phrases to use, including:
- “I love how you taste baby. I want your fullness inside my mouth.”
- “I want to fuck you so hard tonight.”
- “I can’t wait to have you sit on my face tonight.”
- ”I want you to cum so hard in my p*ssy tonight, baby.”
Oh, one last thing directly from our sexting etiquette tips—always, always double-check before hitting “Send.” Let’s not text Dad instead of “daddy.”
