Whether you’re slowly easing back into a scheduled workout routine or simply enjoy strolls around the neighborhood, we’ve got a handful of hacks to make the most of your walk. Disclaimer: this post was made for those who are slightly lazy (it’s me) and are addicted to multitasking. Read on to learn our hacks to elevate your next walk.
OK, we gave this one away, but multitask. If you’re feeling overwhelmed and finding it hard to squeeze in a workout with work and phone calls with your circle, take advantage of the nice weather and walk and talk. Simple as that. Catch up with your long-distance friends and family while you’re upping your daily steps.
Move your arms. You might feel silly, but who cares. Actively swing your arms back and forth to tone and sculpt your muscles.
Wear ankle and wrist weights. Opt for a pair that’s slim and convenient, like this set.
Play your favorite song (if you need some ideas, here’s a foolproof Beast Mode playlist) and for the entire track, do lunges up and down the sidewalk. Repeat as many times as you can.
Slip a weighted belt over your activewear to burn more calories and tighten your core.
While these are just a few ways to amplify your physical activity (by doing the opposite of the most), that’s the point—we wanted to keep it simple and straightforward to encourage your post-pandemic fitness routine.
