This one’s for our morning-horny Pooshies. If you’ve spent any time on this site at all, you know we l o v e to talk about sex—and all its glorious benefits. (An orgasm a day keeps the doctor away, right?)

So, yeah, getting it on in the a.m. offers all of the general benefits of sex—helps relieve stress and boost mood, to name a couple—but morning sex also offers a few unique rewards.

So set your alarms for sex o’clock in the morning, because you’re gonna want to wake and bang after reading this.

  • What you do in the morning can set the tone and intentions for your entire day. Getting all of those good hormones (think oxytocin and endorphins) flowing first thing sets a real good vibe.
  • Oxytocin also makes you feel closer to your partner, so you’ll be riding that high for the rest of the day.
  • Sex can help improve focus and memory, so you’re setting yourself up for a productive day.
  • Post-o glow? Time to ask for that raise, take that selfie, send back those shoes that are dangerously close to the end of the return window—you’ve got it, babe.
  • Testosterone is highest in the morning, which means it’s prime time for getting it on.
  • Always hitting the snooze button? It’s much harder to hit snooze multiple times in a row when you are getting it on.
  • Worried about the morning-after awkwardness that can come with a new lover? Bypass it by banging some more.
  • If Harvard says sex is mild exercise, who are we to disagree? It’s way more fun than your usual Pilates class.
  • You’re already in bed. ‘Nuff said.
