Kourtney Kardashian
Welcome back to my series where I share the inside scoop on what I’ve learned from Kourt since working with her over the past two-plus years. I’ve spilled the top skincare secrets I’ve picked up from our founder and the best dating advice she’s given me (so far).
In today’s segment, I’m sharing all the style tricks and tips I’ve stolen from Kourt since becoming an OG Pooshie. I even sat in on her latest fitting with her stylist, Dani Michelle, to get a firsthand look at their process. It included over 250 outfits for Kourt to look through and try on, a chill playlist to set the mood, and a salad break with a side of girl talk of course.
OK, let me take you on a fashion ride thanks to KMK’s impeccable taste and wardrobe knowledge.

Plan your outfits in bulk.
Kourt and Dani chat through upcoming events, plans, and trips so that they can prep ideas for a variety of occasions. Like an upcoming getaway, casual summer looks, dinners dates, etc. Then they go through the racks, and Kourt tries on each outfit. Then Dani takes a photo of each and puts it in Kourt’s lookbook (where Kourt can reference later when she’s getting ready).
Sure, we all don’t have a wonderful stylist like Dani to pre-plan looks for us, but you can steal Kourt’s technique of building outfits all at once (like I did) and incorporate it into your life. I started doing this after sitting through Kourt’s fitting because a) I was bored one night and needed a little pick-me-up and b) I realized how much time it saved when I needed to plan an outfit on a whim. Booked last-minute plans and not sure what to wear? Boom, go to your camera roll and scroll through your pre-planned looks. This is especially helpful when you’re packing for a trip.
Always adjust in the mirror.
Spend a minute in front of the mirror tweaking the outfit and adjusting the fit so you can visualize what it could look like post-tailoring. Another great tip I learned from Kourt: after you’ve tried on all your looks, if anything needs to be altered, put it in a pile to take to your tailor all at once. Kourt has her seamstress on hand during the fitting to mark alterations, but when you’re at home sorting out your looks, creating a pile to drop off gets the job done as well.
For Kourt, the most common tweak I overheard in her fitting was, “I feel like we should make it shorter.” Again, always so aligned with Kourt’s fashion vision. Also, when Dani could see Kourt’s wheels spinning debating if she liked something, Dani would ask, “What is it that you don’t like about XYZ?” I thought this was such a simple way to figure out how to still make an outfit work or know if a piece just isn’t right.
Go with your gut.
I was surprised to see how decisive Kourt was during the fitting. I even told her that and she replied, ‘With my style, I know exactly what I like.” That said, she does like to test out different shoe or accessory options with outfits, but nine times out of ten she will go with her first choice. When you know you know …
Have a closet system.
This system, wow. So Kourt has a section for the pre-planned outfits ready to wear. A section for combos she can mix and match. And then the rest of her clothes are organized by category—tops, pants, dresses, etc. On top of that, Dani has a rack in her closet of outfit ideas curated with items she already owns for last-minute plans and outings. This process definitely made me rethink my current wardrobe organization layout.
When it comes to basics …
A simple tank and cool pants combination never fails. Kourt even shared the exact white tank she’s been living in this summer (she buys the XS pack so they are super fitted and cropped). Ya, I immediately purchased a pack. To complete your relaxed look, pair it with Kourt’s favorite Converse sneakers. She shared that the key to breaking them in is to always wear socks and, at first, wear them in short periods of time to avoid blisters. Hers are of course fully broken in since she’s had them for years.
Oh and don’t waste money on oversized hoodies and jackets; borrow those items from your BF as Kourt does. She said she loves wearing Travis’s vintage hoodies and T-shirts.
Let your style evolve.
Your taste elevates and shifts as you get older and through the different cycles of your life, so let your wardrobe choices reflect where you’re at. Kourt also added that she’s a firm believer that some clothes are meant for certain times and places, like on vacation or a specific event. She laughed and said it’s like “how I always tell my mom she looks like she’s dressed for vacation.” Kourt doesn’t like to be theme-y but leans into more playful pieces for things like dressing for Italy or an outdoorsy trip.
