At Poosh, we’re all about living a balanced life. So while we tout the cleansing properties of Ayurveda and the mind, body, and beauty benefits of vitamin C, we believe it’s OK to indulge sometimes and make your children’s candy-coated birthday dreams come true.

That’s why Penelope and North’s Candy Land-themed birthday party last weekend was a sweet escape of ooey gooey goodness, complete with candy floss clouds, gumdrop forests, lords of licorice, and frosting princesses. Their birthdays are only three weeks apart so they love having a joint celebration.

Wild Child crafted a colorful balloon garland that floated up the steps to the entryway. Biodegradable balloons (made of latex) dotted every inch of the party, as handcrafted sweets and game pieces brought the Candy Land set to life.

In Kourt’s backyard, a massive rainbow pathway led to the Candy Castle: a life-size gingerbread house that was filled floor-to-ceiling with candy from Sugar Factory. Kids could fill reusable bags to the brim with peach rings, gummy bears, sugar tape—you name it.

Supercool Creamery offered their signature Dragon’s Breath dessert, made from gluten-free cereal. Supercool uses liquid nitrogen to give guests their very own smoke show.

A lollipop road paved the way to a candy costume playhouse, where kids could dress up as their favorite piece of candy. Costumes from Chasing Fireflies and HalloweenCostumes.com turned children into Tootsie Rolls, candy princesses, cotton candy, and pieces of Bazooka bubble gum. Gap Kids provided glittery sandals and jellies and metallic loafers for guests to complete their candy-coated ensemble.

Amazing Kid Company, a team of entertainers and lifeguards, kept the children moving from the pool to the candy button runway, while also keeping them safe. Kim and Kourt feel it’s always important to have a lifeguard when kids are swimming at one of their big parties.

Bludso’s Bar & Que served barbecue ribs, chicken, cornbread, mac and cheese, a variety of salads, and Impossible Burgers for plant-based partygoers.

Kourt’s basketball court was transformed into a grassy hideaway, anchored by a candy bounce house, where guests could hop from activity to activity. There was a face painting station, a DIY candy jewelry station, and a make-your-own candy sunglasses station, where kids could turn retro cat eye sunglasses from Gap Kids into custom creations.

P and North’s colorful rainbow Flour Shop cake had candies and chocolates hidden inside that spilled out once the cake was cut.

As guests left, Kourt had party favors waiting: Gap Kids provided tie-dye T-shirts, Sugar Factory sent gift bags, and Mattel provided the most diverse offering of Barbies we’ve ever seen, including chefs, veterinarians, mermaids, unicorns, and even a green mohawk Barbie.
