Movement is good for our bodies, so it totally tracks that we can work on our fitness during everyday activities—not just at the gym.
Below, we rounded up 5 activities to try when you’re bored of your usual fitness routine (or when you just want to add some extra movement to your day).

Rucking is basically walking while carrying a weighted backpack. This sneaks in some strength training, which is important for building lean muscle. It also helps make our bones stronger, something that’s extra important for us ladies because 80 percent of the 10 million Americans who have osteoporosis are women. We lose bone density more rapidly than men.
This is based on a study that found women burn, on average, about 3 calories a minute while having sex.
P.S. Being on top burns more calories than being on the bottom. Ride ‘em, cowgirl!
Or any kind of in-person shopping, really, although this number fluctuates with factors like pushing a cart.
Oh, and putting groceries away also adds a little extra movement, as does unpacking boxes from online shopping (guess it’s time to order more things we saw on TikTok).
