Whether you’re a professional chef or a hobby cook, you know the importance of having fresh ingredients around. For those of us who take trips to the farmer’s market only to let things go bad before we can use it, or can’t even keep a fake plant alive, there is hope.
Leath’s Fieldhouse Starter Set.
For all the microgreen girlies, this at-home grower is not only foolproof, but it looks incredibly chic on any countertop. What microgreens can you grow, you may be asking. Try broccoli, arugula, radish, pea shoots, sunflower sprouts, and more.
As someone who dreams of maintaining a Kim Kardashian-level garden but has yet to keep a small pot of basil alive, I love the sense of accomplishment the Fieldhouse gives me. It also helps that the microgreens grow quickly, since I tend to get impatient with any kind of greenery. It’s that much easier to cut, wash, and add into any salad or dish you want to use them in.
And you don’t need a green thumb to handle it. This petit jardin has everything you need to grow your microgreens year-round. All you have to do is expose your seeds to the grow light, water every one to two days, and enjoy your harvest. The greens are typically ready in seven to twelve days, but after that, you can replant and start the cycle over.
Oh, and did I mention Kylie loves it?
Next time you have friends over for dinner, don’t forget to give your home-grown microgreens a mention. You did grow them yourself, after all.
