Kourtney has been a longtime lover of charcoal for its powerful binding properties. It not only has immediate effects, like relieving us of gas and bloating, but it binds to toxins for deep cleansing and elimination.
ICYMI, Kourt masterminded her very own Poosh x Erewhon smoothie featuring the bold black ingredient, and we noticed Kim is enjoying chic charcoal lattes lately as well—safe to say Kourt’s got the whole fam on board with the stuff.
When taking pure charcoal, Kourt opts for it in powder form, which is great for adding to smoothies and lattes. We saw that Kim’s charcoal tea from the other day looked deliciously creamy, so we knew we had to recreate it for ourselves.

Charcoal Latte Recipe Inspired by Kim Kardashian
Recipe Type:Beverage
Dietary Info:Vegan, Gluten-free
Serving Size:1 serving
Ingredients:
1 cup of coconut milk (canned is ideal, or find a carton with just coconut milk as the ingredients)
1/2 teaspoon activated charcoal powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 pitted dates
Instructions:
1. Heat the coconut milk in a saucepan until it’s just about to simmer. Do not boil, or the fat will separate. We just want to heat it gently.
2. Add it to a blender with the dates, charcoal powder, and vanilla extract. Blend until frothy.
3. Add to your mug of choice, and top with cinnamon and a dash of sea salt if you like!
It’s a cozy, bedtime detox treat or a cleansing, morning beverage if you’re not planning on eating breakfast for a while.
When she’s not sipping her own smoothie recipe, Kourtney relies on charcoal supplements for deep detox each night.
Here is her go-to powder for mixing into beverages.

BIND
She takes BIND by Systemic Formulas before bed, because it is so good at its job—aka binding. It’s important that she doesn’t take it too close to a nourishing meal or any other beneficial supplements (and if you take medication, the same goes for you) because it can bind to those supplements, coat them, and eliminate them before they can do their intended work.
Essentially, give yourself a couple of hours to digest and process your meal and evening supplements before ingesting charcoal, so that it can do its mighty job.
