Aye, new year, new wardrobe they say? We all know that translates to updating your closet with a few key pieces and not completely revamping your belongings. To ease our 2020 shopping guide, we chatted with Kourt’s stylist, Dani Michelle, for her expert insight. Ahead, she’s sharing four items currently on her radar. “My list of what I ‘need’ is always changing, but this is my 2020 covet list,” she notes. Well said. Consider adding these items to your wish list this year. Shop the pieces that are sure to be popular on the ‘gram, spotted on celebs, and in your future closet below.
1) Super Sleek and Laceless Combat Boots
“There are the ribbed versions by Bottega Veneta that come in black and brown and are super hard to find, and the zipper versions by The Row you might have already seen everyone wearing. Both are a dream, worn under the jean and making every outfit tougher. If you fall somewhere between the two, you can opt for Prada’s Monolith boot, or you can want all three like me!”

2) The Black Vintage Jean
“Where once we coveted the perfect stretch in our denim, now it’s all about raw, non-stretch, real denim. You have to find a pair that molds to the butt and leg, and then go in for some extra tailoring. Right now I want to try on these by The Feel Studio, or maybe a new Re/Done pair. Otherwise, I’ll hit my favorite vintage stores like Scout or Gallery Dept. and find an old Levi’s pair and tailor for that custom fit.”

“A long jacket makes every look stronger. And it doesn’t need to be worn just as outerwear. You can find a long-lined blazer, leather jacket, or lightweight trench, for example. Here is a leather version by The Row. You can’t go wrong, and it will never get old.

“Bottega Veneta was on fire last year, and I’m sure for this year. I can’t stop coveting this crossbody bag. The exaggerated signature weave, the perfect size that can actually fit what you need to carry, and the color swatches that let you go minimal, or go wild and pick a baby blue. I can’t decide which color I’ll get, but I know I need it for 2020!”
