Let’s talk about skin smoothies. And no, not the ones we drink, although we love a good blended beverage as well.
The skin smoothies we’re talking about today combine ingredients in a sequence that offers maximum results and boosts the skin’s hydration and plumpness. The popular trend on TikTok is mixing everything together and applying it all at once. But it’s more effective to layer the right ingredients and actives in the right order.
You wouldn’t put just a banana in a blender and enjoy that as a smoothie, would you? Recipes have multiple ingredients for best results, and the same goes for our skin smoothies. Using a mixture of different products with ingredients that complement each other will lead to a better outcome than one single product.
There are so many ingredients to choose from, but here are some I consider to be the “food pyramid” for your skin smoothie that will help maintain clear, glowing skin.
I recommend cleansing dirt, debris, and bacteria from the skin to avoid breakouts. If you have clogged pores, alternate in a glycolic/salicylic acid-based cleanser or one with benzoyl peroxide.
