This year taught us many things—high on the list is the importance of health and prioritizing self-care. As a way to empower my overall wellness, I’ve made a vow to myself to refresh my daily routine and incorporate habits that will empower my life for the new year. They range from supplements that are solutions for “taboo” topics and setting boundaries with friends and family members to completely detoxing my belongings for a simpler way of living and creating more “me time.” For me, it starts with manifesting and saying these 2021 goals out loud (or in this case, online).
Ahead, I’m sharing my wellness checklist for the new year and hope it inspires you to set similar intentions for this new chapter.
1. Add female-focused supplements into my daily routine.
OLLY makes this one simple thanks to its Future Is Female collection, which includes four supplement options depending on your body’s needs. Bloated? Take the Beat The Bloat capsule. Low libido? The Lovin’ Libido is here to help. Here’s the full breakdown of the collection:
OLLY Beat the Bloat
Price: $18
Packed with a blend of digestive enzymes and botanical extracts, this once-a-day capsule helps to reduce bloat thanks to the powerful ingredients of ginger and fennel.
OLLY Miss Mellow
Price: $18
To ease normal hormonal shifts, like irritability and mood changes, the Miss Mellow supplement (that’s meant to be used all month long) is here to help. The hero ingredient? Chasteberry, which is a fruit that can help to balance PMS-related mood swings.
OLLY Lovin' Libido
Price: $20
The Lovin’ Libido supplements are packed with ingredients that boost desire, enhance arousal, and support satisfaction in the bedroom. The two-a-day product is ideal for a healthy sex drive and sensation support.
OLLY Cleansing Cranberry
Price: $16
Cleansing Cranberry is the savior to urinary tract health. The two-a-day product works to keep UTIs at bay and bladder health strong. There’s nothing more uncomfortable than the feeling of a UTI coming in hot (IYKYK). With OLLY’s Cleansing Cranberry supplement, you’ll be able to ease your mind and enjoy a comfortable and confident sex life.
2. Family and Friend Boundaries
I have a massive family, and I’m always the one to hype the fam up, which I love doing and will continue to do so, but I also put a lot of pressure on myself to make sure everyone feels included and special at all times. While it brings me so much joy to make my family members and friends (not to mention nieces and nephews) smile, it can be draining at times. Ahh, I even feel guilty typing this, but next year I’m going to do my best to carve out designated family texting time versus responding at all times.
3. Downsizing My Belongings
This one is going to feel so good. I’m moving out from my current apartment in the new year, which calls for a complete detox of items I no longer need. I’ve already brainstormed how I’ll organize the piles of things I can donate, ship to family members, and sell. Wish me luck, lol.
I currently have a bad habit of sleeping with my laptop next to me. (In my defense, it started because it was the easiest way to charge my computer and phone at night.) With my move, I plan to make a point to keep my laptop in another room and make my bedroom a true sanctuary for blissful sleep (and play of course).
The four things listed on the checklist above pretty much cover this category—making healthier choices when it comes to my overall wellness and how I spend my time and energy. That said, I’m making it a goal to have one “me night” a month (I’m talking phone on airplane mode, no distractions type of evening), which won’t be hard because I’m a homebody at heart!
