If there’s one major change we’ve all noticed in Kourt in recent years, it’s her hair. Ok, maybe it’s that she’s in love in the most fulfilling, beautiful relationship of her life.
But also, it’s her hair.
Her chic, fresh, ultra-glossy, ultra-healthy (and lately, ultra-blonde) bob is starting to be synonymous with Kourt, despite rocking long locks for most of the time we’ve known her through the show or on social media.
While she looked amazing with long hair, the bob just suits her. It’s cute and flirty, edgy, and super easy to manage, which is major inspo for a lot of us at Poosh. But it wasn’t just a style statement.
Kourt tells us that her long hair held a lot of memories for her, and this rings true for many people. Our hair can be a security blanket. It can symbolize the time spent growing it, which holds an emotional connection similar to having history with someone. It can keep us tied to an identity, one we may not connect with so much any more or one we would like to evolve.
And in that way, sometimes our hair does actually hold onto that history, and that history can weigh us down.
We aren’t suggesting that everyone chop off their locks pronto—although “The Therapeutic Chop” is majorly trending right now on TikTok. We’re just raising the idea that perhaps this is the change, or the catalyst for change, that you’ve been looking for.
The urge to make a cleansing pivot with yourself, your job, or your relationships is a beautiful thing to experience in the spring season of growth. And like Kourt, we love the idea of releasing dead ends that have been with us for years and making way for a new era of intuitive guidance—and of course, fresh growth.
