I’m one of those people who never looks like they’ve had enough sleep—in part because, well, I never get enough sleep. Even so, I want to appear well-rested and youthful without having to actually change anything about my lifestyle or routine. (It’s me, hi, I’m the problem.) Alas, most eye products, even the really good ones, tell me, “Best I can do is insomnia but you drink a decent amount of water.” Until I tried The Things We Do’s new product: Coconut and Collagen Hydrogel Eye Masks + Niacinamide Capsules.
The ingredients in this eye mask are just what the doctor ordered (so to speak; a doctor would actually probably prefer that I spend more time sleeping instead of, for instance, researching Victorian slang words until 3 a.m.). It’s got tons of niacinamide, which is a superstar for the delicate eye area because it is gentle and effective, helping with both dark circles and fine lines, as well as coconut extract, which contains smoothing and repairing B vitamins along with hydrating fatty acids.
As a person who just turned “watching TV with closed captioning on” years old and has spent her entire career in front of a screen, I very much appreciate all the effort this mask puts in—in addition to the above, it also contains a blend of antioxidant-rich, moisturizing, brightening, and repairing ingredients like shea butter, acacia extract, and betaine.
Applying the mask is easy and—dare I say—incredibly satisfying. It’s a two-parter: first, you scoop out one or two of the little niacinamide balls, smoosh them up, and gently apply the resulting cream under your eyes and on the outer corners. Then you place the plant collagen hydrogel eye masks (which are biodegradable, btw) over to help nourish and seal everything in, and leave on for 15 minutes.
At $76, this product is a bit of a splurge, but IMHO well worth it. I’ve been using them a couple of times a week and can see a big difference overall as well as immediately. My under-eyes feel more lifted and firm immediately after using, and visually they look brighter, tighter, and plumper. Even my fiancé, who I kid you not didn’t notice when I got hair extensions, commented that I looked “less tired.” (Twue rrove, right there.)
