The  SUGAR ESCAPE: Ways to CUT THE CARB

Suffering from a sugar addiction? We’ve got you covered. As one of the most addictive substances, it may seem difficult to avoid the temptation of such a delicious ingredient, but it is possible. How, you ask…self-control and a handful of healthy alternatives.

For those of you with a sweet tooth (raises hand), we’re in this challenge together. Find out how to proactively eliminate eating (and drinking) sucrose.

Switch Soda For Tea

Whenever you have a craving for a sugary soda, pour yourself a cup of tea instead. The subtle sweetness from green tea will help quash the sugar impulse. Fresh peppermint tea is another good alternative. If you’re looking for a little carbonation, reach for sparkling water over soda.

Cut Down on Alcohol

No surprise here, but cocktails are typically mixed with juice or soda making them not only high in calories, but sugar too. When you do drink, we suggest tequila on the rocks (Kourt’s favorite).

Bring Your Own Snacks

When you’re traveling, pack your own snacks. This way, you can bite on things like healthy pretzels, organic snap peas, and gluten-free cookies while en route. Bonus: you’ll likely save money by bringing food from home rather than resorting to gas station or pricey airport options.

Make Your Own Salad Dressing

Store-bought salad dressing can be deceivingly full of carbs. Learn to make your own concoction with simple ingredients, like olive oil and lemon. If you’re lucky, a flavorful homemade salad dressing will get you craving more greens. Try Kourt’s signature salad, which only takes 15 minutes to prep.
