Hopefully we’re all on the same page by now that there is so much more to wellness than a hot body and smoothies on repeat. Our Poosh Your Wellness experience is about living full, emotionally in-tune, joyful lives. The health of our bodies is an incredible vessel to get us there feeling energized, but nurturing our ability to glide through hardships with patience and gratification is key. Poppy Jamie, founder of Happy Not Perfect and leader of a powerful session in Poosh Your Wellness, has the tools.
She leads a crash course called The Happiness Experience, titled to blatantly explain what to expect and what we all deserve.
“It is a group exercise in neural reprogramming, designed to change your thinking patterns so that you are naturally prone to focus on joy. The full experience is 21 days to drive your new thinking patterns deep into your subconscious, but you will start to feel the benefits immediately. Each day, you will receive an audio lesson, a daily journal exercise, and a physical activity to help support you as you upgrade your mind, unearth your toxic core beliefs, determine your unique gifts, and continually realign yourself to your highest energy,” Jamie details.
“I released my bestselling book Happy Not Perfect last year, as a guidebook to Flexible Thinking. I wanted to create a community where everyone who wants to upgrade their minds could do so together, using the biological trigger of accountability that allows us to have a much higher success rate in completing our goals.”
If this feels like another task to squeeze into your packed calendar (as valuable as it is), fear not. Commitment is critical, but it won’t consume your day.
“Repetition is how you are able to change your thought patterns for life. The daily lessons are audio format, so you can listen to them as you would a podcast, and during the daily physical activity. The daily journal prompt should take no more than 10 minutes, and your weekly accountability check-in with your accountability partner can run as little as 15 minutes.”
Twenty-five minutes a day to achieve long-term joy? We think we can pencil that in. Jamie explains that everything in our lives begins with the mind. There is no health without mental health, so it’s not a would-be-nice-if … it’s absolutely crucial.
This application of Flexible Thinking is for everyone, not just the excessively anxious or depressed. But that’s not to say it can’t impact those with deeper wells of suffering. Jamie explains that this course combines the best, proven methods from neuroscience, behavioral psychology, somatic work, and elements of psychosynthesis. It’s essential neuro-programming. It’s both creating and eliminating habits to focus on what benefits you.
While a happy, healthy mind lends itself to other modes of wellness, like our physical fitness and careers, it’s also a catalyst for wellness in relationships of all kinds, which Jamie can testify to.
“The whole reason I began my mission to understand how the mind works was to get myself out of a number of harmful ruts I was stuck in. Neuroplasticity is the biological reality that our minds are not stuck. We are designed to change. When you unearth your toxic core beliefs and the patterns of behavior they lead to, and train your brain to instead improve and protect your energy, your entire life will change.”
