Hello, me again, with another piece on my skincare journey. Last time I shared how I naturally got rid of my perioral dermatitis (for now—we don’t want to jinx it, people!). Since I’ve done a fair amount of trial and error with what works and doesn’t work for my skin, I wanted to do a little write-up on my experience with adding different supplements into my everyday skincare routine.
First a disclaimer, I do take spironolactone (a low dose) pretty much every weekday (spironolactone is used to treat hormonal acne as it helps to balance androgen hormones). Sure I forget or spread my prescription out if my skin is treating me well and not acting up, but for the most part I take this prescription Monday through Friday. If you’re dealing with hormonal acne, it’s a game-changer, just check with your doctor or dermatologist to see if it’s a fit for you.
Aside from that, these are the five supplements that have made a noticeable difference in the overall appearance of my skin.
Neem
To keep my PD under control …
Vitamin C
To keep my skin bright …
Collagen
To keep my skin looking youthful …
Biotin
To keep my skin healthy …
Zinc
To keep my skin clear …
