This summer will look much different from last year (thank goodness). Now that we’re able to safely travel, eat in restaurants, and gather in groups—the shift is still an adjustment. They say it can take as few as 18 days to form a new habit, and as of 2020, the habit we universally (well, speaking for most here) conquered was spending more time at home.
With the lifted restrictions in the U.S., it’s time to retrain your headspace for whatever you’re comfortable with in this new sense of normal. For some, they’re r e a d y to fill their calendars with after-work and weekend plans again. Others may be hesitant as they cope with how to handle heightened social anxiety. It’s not a cut and dry transition, that’s for sure (and perfectly OK).
