Scent is such a personal thing. It can be deeply relaxing, and it’s a serious memory trigger. When I smell something natural, fresh, and just clean and earthy, I can’t explain it—it just feels safe. It’s wholesome. That’s why my team at Poosh and I came together to create this amazing diffuser with Saje—I wanted to make it an even more personal, beautiful experience.
This really all started when I became a believer in essential oils. I got really sick last year with the flu and the worst sinus infection I’ve ever had. I was completely checked out for what felt like an eternity, and my doctor turned me on to a special little inhaler. It was like a face steam that you breathe in with a blend of quality lavender, peppermint, and thyme essential oils. I’d breathe it in deeply and let it saturate my lungs and really get into my sinuses and I could not believe how much it helped. But it was more than that.
Not only did this help me function better so I could get back to my jobs, including my most important role as a mom (no days off from that one), but I really noticed a lift in my mood, too. I started diffusing essential oils in my home and realized how these floral and herby scents really transport you. I also love how you can create a signature scent for your home with certain smells. I’m so into the idea of coming home to a distinct scent that just puts me and others at ease, and that you can get that familiar feeling when you enter the house right away because the scent hits you and you just know you can relax there.
There are some really decent diffusers on the market. There are sleek, modern designs and everything, but they still look like a diffuser, and almost like an appliance on the shelf. I wanted something chic and minimal—something that really blends in and complements your home decor so that you don’t have to tuck it away between uses. It just lives on the shelf.
The Saje x Poosh diffuser is a beautiful, super simple dome shape, and the texture is a little organic and natural, like adobe, as opposed to smooth white plastic. It’s practically sculptural, adding form on top of function. When we were finalizing the designs, we had it sitting on my dining room table next to my favorite little Jenni Kayne vases and I just thought, wait. They look so amazing together that I could just keep it here as a centerpiece, which is exactly the vibe I was going for.
It comes in grey and white, and it mists for seven straight hours. Sometimes I put it on the 14-hour intermittent setting if I’m going to be home chilling all day. It makes my house smell so fresh, so I like to keep one in every central room. I put one in my bathroom, and it makes my whole bedroom wing smell clean but in a natural, not overpowering way. I also put one in my kitchen, because that seems to be the most central place where the family always comes together.
The best part of this collab is the special Poosh essential oil scent that we blended. Lavender and geranium are calming and soothing, while orange, grapefruit, and palmarosa are uplifting and energizing. Rose and ylang ylang add a sexy, floral depth. This blend has so many layers that all its different notes can be personal to so many different people, which is why I use it all day, every day as the signature scent of the house. It smells like home.
