Maybe you’ve noticed your body smelling odd lately or you’re hypersensitive and paranoid about your body smelling weird without your awareness—either way, we’re not judging (happens to the best of us). Since we’re all for team clean, we’re sharing natural ways to help reduce and prevent unwanted body odor. Let your unique and natural personal scent shine in all its glory with a little assistance from these habits you can do daily or weekly depending on your dedication.
Here’s to smelling Poosh-perfect year-round.
Drinking chlorophyll water helps to detoxify and rid the body of toxins (many of which could be causing B.O.) plus other wellness benefits, which you can read about here. But, let’s rewind and get a little scientific. So you’re actually drinking chlorophyllin, which is derived from chlorophyll (in the small print on most labels, you’ll see chlorophyllin in parentheses after chlorophyll). Chlorophyllin is the water-soluble version of chlorophyll, which we all know is a pigment that gives plants their green color. Simply put: the green stuff is good for you! To hop on the chlorophyll water wagon, add the below drops to your daily hydration routine.
Recommended dose: 18 drops in water twice a day. If you’re super sensitive to taste, add a squeeze of lemon to cut the flavor.
Price: Case of 12 $60
These 100% recyclable bottles are also a great option and already have the added lemon flavor. Plus, for every case sold, the brand plants a tree in New York through One Tree Planted, and each case comes with its own recycling bag.
Just the sexy self-care treatment you envisioned, right? Ha! Deep cleanse your pits sooner than later, Pooshies, especially if you’re dealing with unexpected and unpleasant body odor. It’s also a proactive way to help your body adjust to an all-natural deodorant because IYKYK, it can be a journey.
What you’ll need:
1 tablespoon bentonite clay (we love Aztec)
1-2 teaspoons water
1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
Mix the ingredients until you get a consistency like yogurt.
Spread this on your pits and wait 5-15 minutes. Try chilling on a towel on your back while holding a book overhead to keep your arms elevated. Wash off the clay in the shower or with a warm washcloth. We recommend doing this in the evening if you have sensitive skin because it may turn your pits a little rosy from elevated circulation in the area.
