Poosh
By now you’ve probably seen the video that Kim posted of her, Kourt, Adrienne Bailon, and friends doing the ice bath at our Poolside with Poosh event on Saturday—but Sarah Howard and Michelle Scanga from the team actually tried it the week before! Although one of the two couldn’t make it past her thighs, the other focused for the full three minutes with the help of Mariah Carey’s “Fantasy” as a delightful distraction. Read on to find out if Sarah or Michelle froze out and to learn more about the treatments offered at Remedy Place.
Here’s to making self-care a social activity and not just something you do to treat yourself. Let’s normalize wellness experiences as a way to get out of the house and bond with friends, coworkers, or even a potential significant other in place of attending a happy hour that will only lead to a hangover or consuming a heavy meal that will leave you bloated the next day.
That’s the main goal at Remedy Place in Los Angeles. It’s the world’s first social wellness club where they encourage you to book treatments with a pal so you can experience the mind, body, and beauty benefits together. It’s all about bonding while you enhance your well-being and create healthy lifestyle habits.
The club launched just over two years ago and offers a range of treatments, which we’ll get into below. They also have specialists available to book personalized services like acupuncture, cupping, chiropractic movement, and sessions with a naturopathic doctor. The location includes a wellness bar (with all nonalcoholic beverages of course), and they even have Bella Hadid’s Kin Euphorics feel-good drink available along with other adaptogenic sips and snacks.
Remedy Place recently hosted a portion of our Poolside with Poosh event, which you can read about in our recap, but today we’re sharing a bit more about what the club has to offer. Scroll on to read about the Poosh team’s first experience at the social club.
Treatment 1: Lymphatic Compression
After you slide into a pair of compression pants (that actually go up to right below your chest), your guide cranks up the pressure. The suit begins to expand and tighten, making you look like you’re in a fat suit. The hourlong compression session feels like you’re getting a nice big hug while it draws toxins from your body. Sarah and Michelle sat in the room together and multitasked during the session as they brainstormed upcoming ideas for Poosh.

Ear seed acupuncture is also available at the club. Sarah and Michelle received their seeds during the lymphatic compression session. The specialist asked both of them the three main areas they’d like to focus on, and from there the seeds were placed in the area of the ear associated with their desired needs. Think anxiety, gut health, energy, depression, etc.

Treatment 3: IV Vitamin Drips and Wellness Shots
Sarah and Michelle skipped out on this session, but Rob from our team enjoyed a custom vitamin drip during his visit. You can see the club’s full list of drips available here.

Treatment 4: Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber
Known as ‘the best nap in Los Angeles.” You enter what looks like a spaceship and nap or simply relax while you inhale 50% more oxygen. “It looks intimidating, especially if you’re claustrophobic, but once you get settled in you’ll start to feel real good. Sarah and I were texting during the session about how we felt like we were high on laughing gas at the dentist. It’s a mild head high to where you just feel really loose and relaxed and a little loopy. After I exited the machine, I instantly felt rejuvenated and had the best night of sleep that evening,” Michelle shares.

Treatment 5: Breathwork Pre-Ice Bath Plunge
Now for the real challenge. To mentally prepare for the ice bath, the club encourages 11 minutes of guided breathwork before the freezing plunge. After the meditative breathing session, you head to the tub with your favorite song ready and queued up. The countdown begins, three, two, one … Sarah lasted, well, long enough to have her thigh touch, and then she jumped out. Michelle, on the other hand, lasted the full three minutes (three minutes is recommended, and bonus points if you can make it to the six-minute club). If you’ve never done an ice plunge, it basically gives your body a jolt of energy and helps with circulation and muscle recovery, boosts metabolism, and challenges your mind to focus on your breathing to make it through the cold AF feeling.
