It’s time to trade our Aperol spritzes for steaming hot mugs of tea, our regular depression for seasonal depression, and our beach-themed IG captions for ones like, “Can’t reply, eating pie.” Fall is here, and we’re ready to embrace cozy szn. Moody, rich, spicy scents are key in creating that coveted autumnal a m b i a n c e, so below we’re sharing eight under-$50 things that’ll make your home smell like October.
A simmer pot with fragrant herbs and spices
Simmering whole herbs and spices on the stovetop is a simple way to bring fall vibes into your home. Plus, the liquid can also be enjoyed as a cozy cup of tea. We like using organic cinnamon sticks, star anise, cloves, and cardamom pods; a pre-blend of mulling spices is also a good option.
The triple threat of this list, cinnamon brooms fill the air with a cozy aroma, look cute as Halloween decor, and are thought to ward off negative energy and evil spirits.
Ofc we had to include a couple candle recs. While pumpkin-spice scents abound this time of year, the two candles below channel fall in a more unexpected way, with warm, woodsy, and spicy notes that bring to mind brisk air, roaring fires, and snuggly sweaters.
For fragrance without smoke, try a wax melter. The ones below can be used with regular candles that are 10 ounces or less, or smaller fragments of scented wax known as wax melts or tarts.
