My time of the month is a little unpredictable. Not the actual event itself, thank Goddess! I always know things are on track. I’m every 28 days—like clockwork. Not that you asked.
But, the symptoms still throw me for a loop sometimes, even though I’ve had them for the past 20 years. For some reason, they never get any easier. And because they’re never the same, I never know how to prepare. I tend to take the f*ck-around-and-find-out route (aka do nothing and let this month’s Molotov cocktail explode inside of me whatever way it likes).
Ah, the pleasure of being a woman.
Some months are minimal, maybe some light cramping. Others are anxiety-ridden, emotional rollercoasters. I ask that everyone kindly cease from sending me disturbing news content, sentimental commercials, or cute animal videos during this trying time as the tears are fully loaded in the chamber with the safety off and finger on the trigger.
This past cycle, I tested the brand-new Lemme PMS tincture. It’s a hormone-balancing blend with vitamin B2 for energy and hormone support, reishi mushroom for inflammation, nervous system, and immunity, and organic raspberry leaf with cramp bark for—you guessed it—cramping.

But that’s not all…
Stinging nettle, milk thistle, and ginger help support circulation and detox, and Schisandra chinensis extract (SCE) helps the body adapt to stress. Passionflower acts like a weighted blanket, wrapping us in deep relaxation that’s still daytime functional, but with a lot more chill.
The Schisandra, passionflower, and reishi definitely help me with the anxiety aspect, but perhaps the most effective ingredient for me is the dong quai root—often referred to as “female ginseng.” It’s a common Traditional Chinese Medicine herb (as a lot of these ingredients are) that can help to balance women’s hormone levels by leveling out the production of estrogen.
Imbalanced hormones can have negative effects because they rely on each other for specific functions. If one is too high, the whole system suffers. Dong quai can help with cramps and even night sweats—a common PMS symptom. (Men, imagine—night sweats every single month!) And of course, we can’t forget mood swings.
I’ve been taking this tincture for an entire month leading up to my cycle finale, so I think it’s safe to say my rock-solid mental state during this chaotic time has Lemme PMS to thank.
Disturbing, unreasonable thoughts cycling through my brain the moment I try to sleep? Not there. Night sweats? Didn’t have ‘em. Cramps? They made a cameo but were totally manageable. Digestion? Totally normal—and ladies, you know that’s where sh*t can get a little crazy.
But most important—I didn’t feel emotionally sensitive. It’s not that us uterus-owners go out of our minds with insanity each month. Our feelings are real and valid at all times. The reality is that during our period (or right before it), those emotions intensify.
In fact, studies show that our bodies are more sensitive to pain during this time. That’s why deep tissue massage, tattoos, and piercings aren’t recommended during this time—mega ouchie! It only makes sense that our emotional pain receptors are working overtime as well.
I took 30 drops (one whole dropper) daily for a month, and my pain perception—physical and emotional—stayed balanced. Lemme always makes sure their formulas are tasty, so it’s not hard to remember.
I’m done with my 20 years of f*ing around and finding out. I finally found a way to prepare.
