Kourtney Kardashian Barker
When it comes to any holiday, you all know by now that Kourt doesn’t mess around. She goes ALL out, making sure the home is decked out not only for the kids, but guests, herself, and any possible festivities that may occur. You can almost always guarantee Kourtney is hosting something fun.
This year, she put out all of her favorite decor items as usual but felt it important to share special information about each nostalgic piece. Many of these items, which are carefully packed away somewhere safe, get used again and again each year because they hold special meaning for her.
To take a tour through her mementos as pops of fresh ideas, follow along below.
“I always start each holiday season by gathering ideas and vibes and finding imagery on Pinterest that resonates with me. I came across a red Christmas tree, and I had never done a flocked tree, so it felt really different and special from anything I had done before. When I started asking how to make it happen, our tree guy was able to find non-toxic, clean flocking material to use on real trees, so they still smell amazing. We got my favorite mini LED twinkle lights from Aldik. I love how the trees turned out—simple and chic but still festive,” Kourtney tells us.
“We bought this at Target this year. My kids and I always love writing letters to Santa—I write one every year!”
Christopher Radko Snowglobe
Kris collects Christopher Radko ornaments and has for years, so they remind Kourtney of her own childhood, being mystified by the magic of the holiday decor all around the house. This vintage piece is specifically from that special time.
“I remember being a kid and being so excited to build this dollhouse with my mom when we first got it. I still get equally as excited when I see it every year. It’s one of my most sentimental and cherished Christmas decorations!”
Another golden oldie vintage piece from Kourt’s childhood, living a vibrant second life.
“Elf on the Shelf is a tradition my kids and I look forward to every year. We love reading the story and watching the movie, and my kids have the best time searching for the elves each day and seeing what they’ve gotten into.”
Kris has loved Solvang Bakery since she was a little girl when her grandmother Lou would take her to the family-owned spot in Solvang, CA. These childhood memories sparked the tradition to send her own kids custom gingerbread houses each holiday season. She’s been sending these handmade houses from Solvang Bakery for almost 15 years. Now, Kourt has carried on the tradition by sending Solvang gingerbread houses for Christmas and Halloween to some of her friends and family.
This was a gift from Kris this year, from Neiman Marcus. It lights up, spins, and plays music—and gives a super classic, nostalgic holiday feeling.
“My friend Veronique loves the holidays almost as much as I do and always finds the cutest treats to bring by. Last year, she found these Chip ‘n Dale Nutcracker figurines that I put by the fireplace in my room during the Christmas season.”
“These are true vintage from my childhood.”
“Travis surprised me with this two years ago—the first Christmas we were dating. It’s a vintage snowman, lighted blow mold.”
“Another vintage memento from my childhood.”
