Since October, the CDC estimates there have been between 19,000,000 and 26,000,000 flu illnesses, and unfortunately peak flu season is still in effect. We all know the standard precautions to prevent getting sick, like thoroughly washing our hands to avoid germs and eating as clean as possible to keep our immune systems strong, but at the end of the day, you can’t fully control when and if you’re hit with a seasonal bug.
In the spirit of staying healthy and flu-free, Kourt shared the items she uses at the first sign of feeling under the weather. “If everyone around me is sick or even the moment I start to feel ill, I add the below supplements into my daily routine,” she said. She typically takes the papaya, olive leaf, and elderberry on an empty stomach, and will add ginger shots and bone broth into her diet as well. She also noted that her doctor always reminds her that the best defense—besides doing everything we’ve mentioned—is getting a proper amount of sleep and staying hydrated.
