How does it work and why do you need one? 

The key benefits: 

If you’re new to the world of infrared saunas, here’s what you need to know. Within one session, the treatment can help to detoxify the body, calm the nervous system, enhance circulation, speed up metabolism, alleviate pain, and improve the immune system. Sounds too good to be true, right? 

Well, there’s science and research to back it up. 

Natural pain relief

“The Heat Healer is a modern-day solution for natural pain relief that uses the same core techniques of heat therapy that cultures around the world have used for thousands of years to treat and relieve all kinds of pain,” the brand shares. 

Anti-aging

Heat therapy impacts aesthetically related aging aspects like cell turnover, which helps produce more collagen and therefore promote healthier and firmer skin, but it also is known to help lower the risk of early death. According to the Kuopio Ischaemic Heart Disease Risk Factor (KIHD) Study, “Frequent sauna users were found to be 40 percent less likely to die from all causes of premature death.”

Immunity  

Using heat therapy has been shown to help trigger the production of white blood cells (which help fight off illness and viruses), resulting in a stronger immune system. 

Deeper sleep and heightened energy 

Hack your way to better sleep with a 60-minute heat therapy session. While you’re in the blanket, “your core body temperature will temporarily rise, which is then proceeded by a fast decline back to your normal resting core temperature, once the session has ended. As your core body temperature declines, your circadian clock gets a kick-start and your body will become primed for sleep as your brain naturally starts to produce melatonin in response to the cool-down,” the Heat Healer team explains.  

Weight loss 

During each session, you can burn real calories (not just water weight), which of course leads to weight loss. Through sweating and detox, the heated blanket helps to burn fat and mimic the results of exercise. 

Mental clarity 

Practice the ultimate form of self-care by reserving 60 minutes of “me” time away from your phone and screens. The session can act as a meditation ritual thanks to its full layer of flat jade and tourmaline stone, which, when paired with the infrared heat, emits negative ions (and feels incredibly relaxing). 

After 15 minutes:
Your body will start to feel relaxed as you enter a meditative state. 

After 30 minutes:
Your body will begin to sweat and burn calories. 

After 45 minutes: 
Your brain will release its “feel-good” chemicals, allowing you to feel deeply rested and relaxed. 

After 60 minutes:
Your body will enter a state of hormesis with increased production of heat shock proteins (the main driver of the long-term benefits of heat therapy). 

How to use it: 

Part one:
1.Lay the blanket on a flat surface.
2.Open it completely. 
3.Place a towel on top of the jade and tourmaline stones. 
4.Close the blanket fully.

Part two: 
1.Connect the blanket to the controller, then plug it into the wall.
2.Turn on the master power switch at the back of the controller.
3.Press the power button on the front of the controller.
4.Set preferred temperature for each zone and the timer. Note: 158 degrees Fahrenheit is a good starting temp. 

Part three:
1.Wear loose clothes and socks. 
2.Have a face towel and bottle of water next to you. 
3.Enter from the top and shimmy your way down. 
4.Once you’re in the blanket, find the position that works best for you (both arms in, both arms out, or one arm in/one arm out). 
5.Enjoy your session. 

Part four: 
1.Turn the controller completely off. 
2.Open the blanket and then wipe it down using a natural cleaner or plain water. 
3.Allow 30 minutes for the blanket to cool down before packing it up.
