There’s truly a hack for everything if you look in the right places … have you tried the DIY rice water trick for healthier locks that Kim introduced us to? Well, let’s start with today’s hack, and then you can add the all-natural hair tip to your lineup.
When you look in the mirror or take a selfie, is your smile slightly uneven? Probably so, and hey, join the club! If you’re hoping to achieve a bit more balance in your face and smirk, Tina Craig (the founder of UBeauty and source of all things anti-aging and skincare) has a simple tip for you.
“Why do I do daily exercises with a (clean!) pencil in my mouth? It’s all about maintaining a straight face, literally. I had never noticed my smile was asymmetrical until the last few years. When I eat, I tend to chew on the left side, so those mouth muscles are stronger than the right. This simple technique is helping even that out. While no one’s face is perfectly symmetrical, one can strive to be as in balance as possible,” Tina explains.
To try the quick and easy hack, the only item you will need is a straight-edge pencil, pen, or metal straw. “If it’s narrow on one end, you’re going to make your smile even more crooked,” Tina adds.
Instructions:
First, place the straight-edge pencil or metal straw behind your canine teeth, double-checking that it is straight. Then you move your neck to the left, right, up, down, and at a 45-degree angle. Make sure to do three sets a few times a day to ensure the best results. Massaging your jaw muscles will also tone your jawline and keep it intact.
The simple facial exercise also helps to lift your cheeks, tone your neck, and of course, give you a more symmetrical grin.
