Superfood Cherry Almond Energy Balls

Ready to outsmart your afternoon slump? Make a batch of these Superfood Cherry Almond Energy Bites from @talulaskitchen.

The nutritional highlights:

  • Almonds: Fiber, vitamin E, magnesium, and protein
  • Dates: Natural sweetness, fiber, and antioxidants
  • Chia seeds: Plant-based protein, omega-3s, calcium, and iron
  • Hemp seeds: Omega fatty acids, vitamin E, magnesium
  • Cherries: Fiber, potassium, vitamins A and C

These sweet, chewy bites come together in under 10 minutes (!), are packed with superfoods (!!), and are totally customizable (!!!). Feel free to swap the almonds and cherries for other nuts and dried fruits, like cashews, walnuts, dried blueberries, or apricots.

Make a batch on Sunday, stash them in your fridge, and you’ll have a grab-and-go snack all week long.

Cherry Almond Energy Balls

Recipe Type:Breakfast, Snack
Serving Size:9 balls
Prep Time:5–10 minutes

Ingredients:

1 cup whole raw almonds
10 dates, pitted
1/4 cup almond butter
2 tablespoon maple syrup (or brown rice syrup)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Pinch of sea salt
2 tablespoon chia seeds
1/2 cup dried cherries
Optional: 1/4 cup hemp seeds (for rolling)

Instructions:

1. In a food processor, pulse the almonds until roughly chopped.
2. Add the dates, almond butter, maple syrup, vanilla, sea salt, and chia seeds. Blend until well combined.
3. Add the dried cherries and pulse briefly. You want them mixed in, but still slightly chunky for texture.
4. Scoop about 2 tablespoons of the mixture per ball and roll into smooth rounds.
5. If desired, roll the balls in hemp seeds for extra nutrients.
6. Enjoy immediately or store in an airtight container for up to one week.
