Watch Emilia Ramos, founder of Agrestal Beauty, and Candace Marino, expert facialist, walk us through this anti-aging treatment that’s amazing for hyperpigmentation and fine lines in the video below, and learn the skincare benefits plus what you need to create the all-natural recipe at home.
½ cup sugar cane
2 tablespoons rosehip oil
2 tablespoons grapeseed oil
1 tablespoon aloe vera
1 tablespoon raw organic honey
1 teaspoon matcha green tea powder
1/2 teaspoon frankincense essential oil (or essential oil of choice)
Matcha provides an antioxidant boost, energizes the skin, and can help increase firmness while evening out skin tone. Plus, both internally and topically, green tea is antimicrobial on top of being anti-inflammatory.
Sugar cane is a great exfoliant, and it’s the natural derivative of glycolic acid so it helps with resurfacing skin’s texture.
Rosehip oil is an amazing anti-aging ingredient. It’s packed with vitamins A, C, and E and helps with diminishing discoloration (hyperpigmentation, we’re looking at you) and fine lines while nourishing the skin.
Grapeseed oil is an antioxidant and promotes collagen production.
Aloe vera fights free radicals and repairs damaged skin cells. It’s also a superhero ingredient for acne since it’s antibacterial, antimicrobial, and incredibly hydrating.
Honey nourishes, plumps, and helps skin maintain its moisture. It’s also a great natural ingredient for acne-prone skin as it’s antibacterial and has anti-inflammatory properties.
Frankincense essential oil improves tone, lessens discoloration, and has anti-aging benefits for fine lines and wrinkles.
1. Add 1/2 cup of sugar cane to a mixing bowl.
2. Add carrier oils rosehip and grapeseed. Stir until the liquid and sugar are no longer separated.
3. Add the aloe vera, honey, matcha green tea powder, and essential oil, mixing until all ingredients are no longer separated.
4. Store in a glass container and keep it in a cool area. Since it’s all-natural, use it within one week of making the scrub.
5. Use the face scrub no more than 1-2 times a week, incorporating into your skincare routine.
6. Enjoy!
