When I was 26 years old, I quit my job as a lawyer. Everyone said I was being irrational, irresponsible, or absolutely crazy. But three years later, I have a product in Saks Fifth Avenue, I sell a mind-blowing sex serum called Play Primer, and I started RUNI, a diverse and LGBTQ+-friendly sexual wellness company.
And it was all possible because I tapped into my divine feminine energy.
Ok, but what does that mean?
The concept of the divine feminine is nothing new and has been around for centuries. The terms “feminine” and “masculine” are typically gender-related. However, with respect to divine energies, they are qualities that anyone can embody to different degrees. Where masculine energy is marked by action and ambition, feminine energy is marked by intuition, creativity, and sensuality. The divine feminine and divine masculine are two halves of a whole, and together, they create a world of balance and harmony.
Not everyone has to quit their job or give up on their ambitions to embrace the divine feminine. In fact, I became more ambitious upon tapping into my divine feminine energy. It was the most raw, messy, and real I had ever been with myself.
After spending eight years working hard to become a lawyer, I gave up everything I thought I was to become the person I always needed to be—the pleasure princess 😉. But things don’t always have to be so….existential. Any amount of growth and healing always embodies the divine feminine.
In a world that often places a disproportionate emphasis on the masculine traits of rigidity and order, my goal is to help people make space for the feminine. Released from traditional guidelines, we can step into our best selves.
Most recently, I applied this to relationships. As far back as I can remember, I was convinced there was one kind of person that was my “type.” Those relationships ended in disaster.
So instead of chasing a certain caricature, I began to surrender to my intuition. I threw out my set of rules and explored my emotions. I didn’t shy away from new situations or people because they were unfamiliar. I dated all different types and found myself much more fulfilled, fostering deeper connections, and understanding what I wanted out of love and life for myself.
How do I embrace the divine feminine?
The divine feminine energy is always in flow. It constantly adapts and evolves to become an essential part of the human experience and something that everyone—regardless of their job, sexual orientation, or gender identity—can tap into and harness.
So how can you start exploring and embracing your feminine energy? Alexa, play “Flowers,” because we’re about to practice a whole lot of self-love:
1.Connect with your body: This can be through activities like yoga, sex, masturbation, dance, or simply taking time to sit with your breath, tuning into your body’s sensations and needs.
2.Experiment and explore: The most transformative aspect of divine feminine energy is exploring what you truly want. Do you want to experiment with multiple partners? Tantric sex? Blended orgasms? Edging? Homosexuality? As an LGBTQ+-friendly company, RUNI always encourages blasting out of any and all binaries for true self-actualization.
3.Connect with your intuition: It’s important to give ourselves permission to actually feel our emotions instead of reacting in a way that we think is appropriate. Embracing the divine feminine is an experiment in self-love. Once you are able to receive information from within yourself instead of outside of yourself, you will slowly realize who it is you are without the need for outside validation.
4.Embrace your Creativity: Take time to embrace and embody your creative side. Find your willingness to be weird! This can be through art, sex, writing, cooking, or any other activity that allows you to make something unique to you.
