This past Saturday, Kourt and the Poosh team hosted an end-of-summer wellness and relaxation day in Calabasas. Kourt wanted the vibe to be very Slim Aarons-meets-Beverly Hills hotel, but with a vintage twist. Mindy Weiss’ team delivered the theme perfectly with pops of aqua blue and bright yellow throughout Kourt’s backyard. When guests arrived, they were given a map of the activities taking place for the day and were able to pick out a swimsuit from Onia and robe from Brooklinen to change into. We really wanted guests to feel like they were checking into a hotel for the afternoon. After they changed into their suit, they were ushered to our Stuart Weitzman clubhouse to receive custom sneakers from the event. Our team and guests wore them all day, and they were truly so comfortable.
Guests had the opportunity to book appointments throughout the day, like facials from Peach & Lily and massages from Squeeze, which were located on Kourt’s basketball court on mattresses provided by Avocado Mattress.
Guests gathered under a shaded cabana oasis for a Gymshark yoga class led by master trainer, Melissa Alcantara (you might know her as @FitGurlMel). She took them through an energizing flow as they donned the Gymshark poise leggings and bralette tops in a mint shade that perfectly fit the event aesthetic. After yoga, attendees enjoyed a tea ceremony led by Shiva Rose to celebrate the full moon.
We also had naturopathic consultations from Dr. Simoné Laubscher courtesy of WelleCo as well as a full elixir bar with customized smoothies and frozen yogurt made with their plant-based protein powder (seriously so good).
The guest list was intimate and included a range of Kourt’s friends—from childhood to her mom friends. We also hosted some of Poosh’s contributors like Chef Sara, Amanda Lee, and Dani Michelle. Celebrities like Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Suki Waterhouse, Adrienne Bailon, Rachel Roy, Malika and Khadijah Haqq, Nicole Williams, and Simi and Haze Khadra attended the day full of sun and poolside conversation. All guests were given Lyft codes to get to and from the event.
Food was all organic and gluten-free catered by Bread and Wine, and the bar was set up by Diageo with wine by Winc and Don Julio Tequila for our Poosh Please Skinny Marg and Poosh-Perfect Paloma cocktails. For dessert, we cooled down with vegan treats from Dream Pops.
To make sure our guests were super chilled out, Hemple created CBD cocktails including “Love shots” boosted with Hemple Sigma, crushed strawberries, cloudy apple juice, rosemary, and lime.
In the middle of the party, we had a massive Slip Silk pillow pit, which was a hit for Penelope and her friends. Pipette provided a floral bicycle filled with their products, which made for a great photo opportunity. Coola sunscreen was placed around the yard for everyone to load up on SPF throughout the day because it was truly a hot one out in Calabasas.
