Isn’t it odd that in the hot, hot heat of summer, fried foods start calling our name?
Something about a crispy, airy bite straight from the sizzling deep fryer while walking the boardwalk or perching on a rooftop bar calls to us. That is, until the hydrogenated oils trigger gastrointestinal distress and bloating that’s not quite aligned with our idea of our best bikini bod. Nor is it the ideal physical conditioning for a dip in the ocean.
But what if we could scratch that itch without the inflammation? Little to no oil? Right at home on a weeknight in 20 minutes? Cue the air fryer.
We know it’s nothing new. But for summer, we think the air fryer is an absolute kitchen essential. We’ve been craving the light, crispy bite of a fried whitefish on an open-face sando or over rice with a remoulade sauce, and we think this recipe does the trick.
