Planning a party comes with a helluva lot of options to decide on—what theme to go with, what food to serve your guests, where to buy the chicest decorations … the list goes on. We’re taking a small amount of pressure off the party-planning prep and educating on ways to make a celebration more eco-friendly, specifically when it comes to balloon selection.
If you choose to use foil Mylar balloons over biodegradable latex options at your shindig, be sure to recycle the materials after the party.
Additional environmentally conscious ideas:
1. Typical kids birthday treat bags are made from disposable plastic—either skip them entirely or use a recyclable option.
2. Swap disposable plates, cups, and utensils for reusable ones.
3. Send digital invites instead of paper cards.
4. Serve food from area vendors that use locally sourced ingredients.
