WFH changed our relationships with a variety of things, from work/life balance to hard pants to our beauty routines. That has resulted in an even greater appreciation for hacks that make our lives easier and better (and for soft pants that look like hard pants). Today, we’re here to share the beauty hacks we think everyone should know in 2022.
1. Brow gel hack
Instead of just applying brow gel in an upward motion, brush brow hair down first. This helps make brows look full and feathery.
2. Beauty sponge hack
Most of us already know the “damp beauty sponge hack.” This TikTok hack takes it a step further and places it in the freezer for about 20 minutes. It can help apply foundation smoothly and reduce puffiness.
3. Eyeshadow hack
Use eyeshadow in a shade close to your hair color to fill in your hair line. You can also brush some along your part to help your hair look thicker.
4. Beet beauty hack
We were mesmerized by this video, and while we can’t confirm that the banana-as-lip-liner hack works, we can say that a beet can be a great vegan lip stain. Just be careful when applying. https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cb7yR14LfkT/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y)
5. Multitasking skincare hack
Fun fact: Kourt likes to use Clarins Double Serum on her body. Other ways to multitask with your skincare: after applying eye cream, use what’s left on your fingers on your lips; apply the serums and moisturizers you use on your face on your neck, chest, and the back of your hands.
6. Cat-eye hack
Precision is key when it comes to doing a cat eye … for those of us with less-than-steady hands, using a piece of tape as a guide for the wings helps ensure lines look crisp and even.
7. Facial yoga hack
Doing facial yoga with a gua sha or other tool can help reveal smoother, plumper skin. Check out this video for full instructions of a routine to do at the end of the day.
8. Skincare application hack
In a similar vein, make sure to apply skincare products using upward motions to help prevent lines and wrinkles.
9. Self-tanner hack
Our wellness editor learned this game-changing tip during a Zoom with St. Tropez. Use one of those inexpensive back scratchers—the ones that look like tiny hands—inside a tanning mitt to get the hard-to-reach places on your back.
10. Peel pad hack
Use a peel pad to prep your face for a smoother makeup application.
