By now, you’ve probably dabbled in the world of DIY projects like making your own hand sanitizer and workout equipment cleaner. Maybe you’ve even become your own personal interior designer thanks to our helpful project quarantine redecoration suggestions. It’s safe to say everyone is learning to become savvier than ever with all the extra time spent at home.
To add to the list of quarantine activities, with the help of Emily Rosen, Skin Consultant at Knockout Beauty, we’re sharing tips on how to do an at-home facial. Will it be as divine as the touch of your favorite aesthetician? Most likely not, but it will do the trick until you’re able to visit your go-to salons and studios. Which if you live in Los Angeles, we highly recommend checking out the new Knockout Beauty location in Brentwood (once we’re in the clear, of course).

“It is so important to get a deep cleanse. One of the best parts of our facial is the triple cleanse. We first use Environ Pre-Cleansing Oil, then Environ Low Foam Cleansing Gel, followed by an Environ Clay Masque cleanse.”
*If you don’t have these specific products, you can substitute by using an oil cleanser, followed by a foam option, and lastly a masque cleanse.
Step 2: Loosen Dead Skin Cells
“After you triple cleanse, glide an ultrasonic scrubber to remove debris, dirt, and dead skin cells. It acts as a gentle exfoliator and will boost your skin’s radiance.”
Post-cleanse and ultrasonic, pat your face with a refreshing toner. This simple act resets and rehydrates your skin for the next steps.
*optional step depending on your skin’s sensitivity
“Peel the skin with either the Environ Revival Masque, the ACM 1 peel kit by Environ, or the Triple Action Resurfacing Peel from Instytutum.”
Editor’s note: it’s always best to err on the side of caution with at-home peels. So be sure to read the instructions and remember you can always build up to the recommended time. Better safe than sorry.
“The next step is back to the hydration station—with either the Instytutum Flawless sheet mask, MZ Skin gold sheet mask, or the GLOPulse from Georgia Louise.”
*If you don’t have these specific sheet masks, you can substitute by using a hydrating one you already have at home.
“Conduct microcurrent with the NuFace or nano-current using the ZIIP. Reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while contouring your face with this handy piece of technology.”
“Finish by moisturizing with a heavy cream like Lacrème Bee Venom or Evenswiss Rich Regenerating Cream by a facial massage with either your hands or a gua sha tool.”
