It’s been said that you spend a third of your life sleeping. To which we respond, “Yeah, if you’re lucky.” It’s more like a third of your life laying in bed, staring at the ceiling, and succumbing to intrusive thoughts.
Okay, maybe that’s a teeny bit hyperbolic. But for many of us, a good night of sleep seems as rare as someone referring to Twitter as X.
That’s why it’s important to practice good sleep hygiene with a wind-down routine at bedtime. And that’s where this yoga sequence comes in, created by Rachel Hirsch, cofounder of Empowered Yoga in LA.
Rachel leads us through gentle stretches and slow, deep breathing to calm the nervous system and get us primed for a restful, restorative night of sleep.
